Instagram post 2187883042336387330_1535294086 💠Refined sugars are processed from food sources such as sugarcane and sugar beets.
.
💠Excess consumption can lead to weight gain, insulin resistance and elevated blood sugar.
.
💠A real problem with sugars is that they are addictive. And another reality is that they are hidden in many types of processed foods such as salad dressings, ketchup and even yogurts
.
💠It is very important that you become aware of the fact that there are many, many different names for sugar on a food label. Some of them end in –ose such as Sucrose, Maltose and Dextrose. Others like Barley Malt, Turinado and Molasses do not.
.
💠Take time to read food labels. Do the Google and get they very long list of the different names for sugar.
.
💠Proper nutrition is a vital piece of cancer prevention so understanding what you choose to put in to your shopping cart is key.

Dr. Nisha Chellam is the best selling author of Transform your thyroid: The Five steps to regain your thyroid and get back your life.
She was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s but prior to this had a failing tug of war with weight gain, seasonal allergies, joint pains and migraine headaches with normal blood tests.. She was diagnosed with pre-diabetes and vitamin deficiencies when she got exposed to the clinical application of functional medicine.

Applying these principles, she was able to completely resolve all of her medical issues.
Since then her only goal has been to spread the message that there is a different way to diagnose and resolve health issues. She believes chronic symptoms are a default to not seeking a better way.

Learning Points:
• What is the clinical definition of chronic fatigue?
• What is the Functional Medicine model for dealing with chronic fatigue?
• How can we take steps right now to combat fatigue?

It is important to stress to your son that this cancer is not common and if found early is curable
.
Let him know that he can come to you if he notices any changes or has any concerns or questions
.
As your son reaches puberty and his body begins to change, encourage him to become familiar with his testicles. Often testicles are not symmetrical. He can only know if there is change if he knows what is his normal
.
It is also important to teach your son how to perform a monthly self-exam so that he can monitor any changes that may have occurred in a testicle
.
Self-care is a key piece for your son's health. By talking to your son about testicular cancer you equip him with tools for self management and help him to understand that ultimately he is responsible for his own health

Allow yourself to feel your emotions; happy, sad or otherwise. They are neither right nor wrong. They just are. They are meant to come in, to be felt and then let go leaving behind a lesson, a heightened memory or nothing at all.
🎆
But whatever their purpose our emotions are a reflection of our most intimate self. They are a unique interplay of many things including our experiences, environments and our perceptions. They are what makes us human and connected.

🎆
We often work very hard to keep our emotions in check. But every now and again when an emotion is evoked allow yourself to revisit that moment, time and place. And allow yourself the opportunity to feel and to be vulnerable. Because this is a part of who you are and the story you tell every day of your life.
